After 12 incredible months of being an au pair in the USA, it’s time to decide what to do next! Here are our top tips for your post-au pair plans:
- Extend your Au Pair placement
After 12 months in the USA, you may find it difficult to tear yourself away. The good news is you don’t have to! The local team can help you extend your Au Pair placement for an extra 6, 9 or 12 months. You can either stay with the same family if they offer, or join a new family elsewhere!
- Take a tour
A month of travel time is included in your visa once your au pair role has come to an end. Why not travel the country you’ve been working in over the last 12 months?
We have a range of awesome tours that pack in loads of fantastic locations and unique activities. Canyon, Coast and Casinos will show you the very best the West Coast has to offer, including the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Yosemite National Park. If the East Coast is more your thing, you should check out the Highlights of the Eastern US & Canada. Or why not do the ultimate cross-country adventure with our San Francisco to New York Road Trip?
- Hire a campervan
If you fancy a more flexible travel adventure, hiring a campervan is definitely the way to go. Our Campervan Hire USA package sets you up with a funky campervan, all the equipment you’ll need for life on the road (such as bedding and cooking utensils), as well as 100 free miles per day! Campervans are also great value if you hire as a group. Why not invite your friends from home to come meet you in the US, or book a camper with some fellow au pairs?
- Become an Au Pair in Australia
After your au pair position is finished and your travel time is up, you’ll have some serious post-travelling blues! Why not kick start a whole new adventure? Check out our Au Pair in Australia package and become an au pair down under. You’ll have loads of experience, so you’ll find a host family in no time!
